A Manufacturing Technician is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Des Moines, IA area. This role is focused on the precision assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware and optical systems using blueprints and diagnostic tools to ensure quality compliance and support engineering development.

responsibilities:
- Follow blueprints, technical diagrams, and guidelines to ensure all products meet precise specifications and tolerance levels.
- Perform complex troubleshooting, calibrations, and modifications on hardware, fixtures, and software systems.
- Operate diagnostic and measuring tools to test and adjust various components and assemblies.
- Maintain detailed production records and report any deviations or issues following standard operating procedures.
- Interpret technical data and accurately log test results, parts usage, and time changes.
- Utilize specialized mechanical and optical equipment, including lasers and computer-based systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical solutions for manufacturing challenges.
- Verify that all finished systems and electromechanical assemblies meet established quality standards.
- Execute reworks and repairs on mechanical and electromechanical components as required.
- Support engineering departments in the design and development of new components and prototypes.
