A Piping Designer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Cary, NC area. This role involves creating technical piping and equipment layouts using 3D modeling software for industrial facilities, requiring 5+ years of experience and coordination with global engineering teams to deliver constructible designs.

responsibilities:
- Develop detailed piping layouts and routing using AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit.
- Apply piping design fundamentals, including pipe sizing and coordination with multi-discipline teams.
- Design and assist with facility equipment layouts to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Review vendor drawings to incorporate specific equipment data into 3D piping models.
- Monitor project scope to identify changes impacting design hours or deliverables.
- Support the development of person-hour estimates for specific design tasks.
- Collaborate with global teams to execute workshare projects across different locations.
- Ensure all designs maintain compliance with company standards and quality expectations.
- Interpret piping specifications and apply them to technical models.
- Manage time and tasks to meet project schedules and budget requirements.
- Integrate pipe stress considerations and facility requirements into the final design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit for piping design and modeling.
- Solid understanding of piping design basics and familiarity with equipment layout.
- Ability to interpret piping specifications and apply them to design.

- Effective communication skills for coordination with multi-discipline teams.
- Associate's degree in Design Technology or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of piping design experience in industrial or commercial facilities.
