Our client, a well known automotive manufacturer in KY is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for their Body Production Engineering Department. In this role you will direct the launch of new vehicle body weld manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate is required to have a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering or six years of equivalent engineering-related experience. This role demands 1-3 years of specialized experience in several key areas, including automotive pre-production or manufacturing engineering, automation (covering specification, jig design, equipment procurement, and installation), Design for Manufacturing/Simultaneous Engineering, and Internal Logistics . Furthermore, 1-3 years of experience in Quality Process Set Up. Candidates must be proficient with 3D CAD, specifically Catia or Delmia, and possess familiarity with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) skills.

responsibilities:
- Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute new model introduction strategies, including process improvement, plant layout design, capacity analysis, and financial justification with a clear Return on Investment (ROI).
- Design for Manufacturing: Conduct simultaneous engineering with styling, body design, logistics, and suppliers to influence new model designs, ensuring innovative, efficient, and best-in-class manufacturing processes.
- Process Implementation: Lead the entire process development lifecycle, from design and equipment specification/procurement to installation, safety risk assessment, production trials, quality confirmation, and final handover to manufacturing.
- Innovation and Technology: Support manufacturing innovation across disciplines, including new materials, advanced joining, quality inspection, optimized logistics, automation, electrification, and digital engineering
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all body parts, subassemblies, and finished vehicles meet stringent quality standards for weld integrity, dimensional compliance, and surface quality.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work independently and within a team, interacting with diverse internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, design, finance, manufacturing) to collaborate, resolve project issues, and provide comprehensive status reports.
- Travel: Travel up to 30% as needed for onsite investigations, modifications, and project milestone meetings.
