Large utility is looking for a GIS Technician in Lansing, MI. This role requires a Bachelor's degree or certificate in GIS to update and maintain an enterprise database by interpreting gas distribution construction drawings and performing spatial analysis using ESRI ArcGIS software. responsibilities:
- Inputs gas distribution work orders into an Enterprise GIS Database.
- Maintains and improves existing geospatial data accuracy and integrity.
- Interprets construction drawings and field as-built information to identify completed work.
- Updates the Gas Distribution Geospatial Information System using ESRI ArcGIS software.
- Collaborates with cross-functional resources to resolve record gaps and verify field data.
- Performs asset analysis and reporting upon request.
- Produces specialty maps utilizing spatial analysis techniques.
- Manages individual workloads effectively with minimal supervision.
- Actively learns and implements new systems, procedures, and GIS concepts.
- Proficiency in using GIS software.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to manage their workload effectively with little supervision and actively learn new skills, systems, and procedures.
- Proficient with ESRI GIS software, Windows, Microsoft Office and GIS concepts.
- Dependable, Logical thinking and self-motivated.
