responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and develop engineers and drafters, ensuring they have the technical skills to handle increasingly complex custom builds.
- Prioritize engineering projects to ensure they hit production deadlines and meet departmental budgets.
- Monitor and report on engineering performance, including project timelines, quality metrics, and cost savings.
- Lead the management of drawings, revision control, and the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.
- Oversee the transition of new products from design to full-scale production.
- Review and approve all engineering designs, specifications, and process documentation to ensure compliance with industry codes and customer specs.
- Work closely with the shop floor to optimize designs for efficiency, reducing scrap and labor costs.
- Maintain and control engineering procedures, work instructions, and records to ensure "audit-ready" status at all times.
- Drive manufacturing support and ensure the on-time delivery of all engineering-led projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial).
- Minimum of 3 years in an engineering manager or leadership role.
- Minimum of 6 years in metal fabrication or related machining manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience with ISO compliance and managing audit performance.
- Hands-on experience working within an ISO 9001 environment.
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
