responsibilities:
- Manage daily shop floor operations to ensure all products meet ISO 9001 quality standards and customer specifications.
- Supervise and lead shop floor personnel, including team leads, welders, and fabricators. This role has direct responsibility for hiring, training, and performance management of direct reports.
- Ensure all work is performed according to approved drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Monitor production output, capacity, and workflow to ensure 100% on-time delivery
- Manage material traceability and the proper handling of work-in-process
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Scheduling, and Purchasing to communicate production status, constraints, and improvement opportunities to management.
- Support new product introductions, process changes, and equipment installations
- Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing, 5S, and waste reduction activities.
- Track and report key production metrics
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication.
- 3-5 years in a supervisory or production management role, with a proven track record of managing direct reports
- ability to read and interpret complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
- Hands-on working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends on the shop floor when required by specific projects or production demands.
