Our client is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator with deep multi-trade experience to support its high-volume self-perform operations in Rochester, NY. This role is ideal for a true construction-minded estimator who understands how projects are built in the field - not just how to measure drawings.
Unlike traditional vertical building estimators, this role focuses on horizontal construction and site-based work, including concrete, steel, carpentry, millwright rigging, and general trades. Estimators will develop conceptual and detailed budgets, evaluate incomplete design sets, and estimate every trade in-house, requiring technical judgment, productivity-based costing, and broad construction knowledge.

- Build labor-driven estimates based on crew production rates, installation methods, and real-world field productivity.
- Evaluate labor costs, union agreements, PLAs, wage rates, and work rules when preparing bids.
- Collaborate with operations teams to align estimating assumptions with execution strategies.
- Support value engineering efforts and cost optimization initiatives.
- Participate in post-project reviews to continuously improve estimating accuracy.
- 10+ years of construction estimating or field-based construction experience, preferably in self-perform environments.
