Large utility is looking for an Engineering Analysts throught the state of MI. The Engineering Analyst leverages GIS and GPS technologies to integrate with construction teams, collect as-installed gas asset information, and ensure regulatory compliance for gas distribution replacement projects. Must have 3+ years of applicable construction experience (depending on degree) and strong knowledge of gas system construction, surveying, and ESRI ArcGIS software. Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10-hour Construction Certification and MIOSHA Part 10, This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm. responsibilities:
- Ensures projects are completed according to plan.
- Leverages GPS and GIS technologies (ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps) to assist with positional verifications and document in-field changes.
- Collects as-installed gas asset information using GPS antennas for records development.
- Directly supports construction teams in the field.
- Coordinates with Engineering personnel and reports to the Contractor Oversight Liaison.
- Develops, maintains, and applies documentation processes for integrated systems (hardware, applications, protocols, detailed point lists, revision control).
- Participates in necessary meetings (Operating Reviews, technology field demonstrations, pre-construction meetings).
- Works additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Requires technical understanding of natural gas distribution construction, design, and record development, including print reading, construction/safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Requires understanding of Surveying Control practices.
- Requires ability to coordinate simultaneous project needs.
- Requires strong communication and presentation skills, teamwork, analytical thinking, and willingness to learn.
- Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of there (3) years of related applicable work experience or
- Associate degree with a minimum of six (6) years of related applicable work experience or
- High School Diploma with a minimum of ten (10) years of applicable work experience.
- Utility Locator Experience.
