A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mapleton, IL area. This role focuses on conducting internal quality audits and gap analyses within a high-speed manufacturing environment to ensure compliance with ISO standards (9001/17025).

responsibilities:
- Research and test the design, functionality, and maintenance of products, equipment, and systems.
- Develop quality standards and read/interpret technical blueprints to evaluate product integrity.
- Devise sampling procedures and design forms for recording and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production and measurement equipment.
- Create training materials and lead sessions on quality control activities.
- Perform internal audits in support of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Conduct gap analysis on the Corporate Quality Management System (CQMS) to identify areas for improvement.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute internal quality audits within a fast-paced foundry and machining environment.
- Generate detailed reports on quality status and identify significant data trends.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve non-conformance issues using effective problem-solving techniques.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality Management team to ensure continuous system improvement.
Education and Experience:
- High school minimum.
- 2 years of experience in auditing.
