Our client is a well known automotive manufacturer looking to bring in a Controls Engineer for a 1 year contract in San Antonio, Texas! In tis role you will program Siemens PLC/Servo systems, commission laser weld lines, and provide equipment support and training.
A successful candidate must possess a BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, coupled with expertise in Siemens PLC programming (Step 7), Simotion Servo Drive programming (Scout Software), and HMI programming. The role also requires experience with equipment installation and commissioning.

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the laser weld Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and commissioning team to ensure the design and installation of laser weld lines meet specifications.
- Provide programming support for Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Servo systems.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of laser weld and stamping equipment setup and programming, and conduct training on modification procedures.
- Create and maintain detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with Project Management and Maintenance technicians.
- Offer technical support for shop floor troubleshooting and participate in the implementation of Kaizen (continuous improvement) activities.
- Provide programming support for Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Servo systems.
