A Staff Engineering Technician is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company. This role requires 3 to 5 years of experience in the substation industry and proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Substation Design Suite (SDS) to develop technical deliverables, and candidates can work out of any company location as long as they are within a 50 mile radius of the office.

responsibilities:
- Functions in a senior level engineering technician capacity with minimal supervision.
- Performs advanced functions requiring knowledge of electronic applications and document control processes.
- Applies knowledge of engineering standards, systems, departmental guides, and applicable codes.
- Adheres to specific company policies and procedures.
- Proactively applies knowledge of the quality program relative to project deliverables.
- Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports change management efforts.
- Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency across the project.
- Assists in ensuring deliverables comply with project-specific codes and standards.
- Evaluates and improves methods and processes used to create deliverables.
- Creates and develops deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.
- Develops design concepts and creates project design deliverables.
- Performs computations such as the development of detailed material quantities and estimates.
- Coordinates deliverables with other groups to minimize interference or errors.
- Supports field activities and project finalization tasks.
- Consolidates records for as-built drawings and information for as-built quantities.
- Focuses on internal client needs while understanding external client drivers.
- Seeks and shares knowledge regarding the latest technologies and processes.
- Applies judgment and makes decisions regarding deliverable interpretation.
- Provides technical guidance, direction, and work delegation to other professionals.
- Mentors others and provides work direction to support career development.
- Requires three to five years of experience with Autodesk Inventor.
- Requires experience using SDS (Substation Design Suite).
- Requires mandatory experience within the substation industry.
- Candidates without specific substation experience will not be considered.
- Diploma or Certificate is preferred.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Related Technology is preferred.
