Drafter needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company. This level role requires at least one year of experience and proficiency in AutoCAD to provide technical drafting support for electrical substation projects, focusing on the creation of accurate schematics, wiring diagrams, and site layouts under engineering supervision, and candidates can work out of any company location as long as they are within a 50 mile radius of the office.

responsibilities:
- Provides technical support to engineering teams by performing drafting tasks under close supervision.
- Utilizes AutoCAD to create, modify, and maintain electrical substation schematics, wiring diagrams, and site layouts.
- Learns and applies industry standards, systems, and document control procedures to all project deliverables.
- Supports the company Quality Program by ensuring all technical drawings are accurate and compliant.
- Assists in the development of less complex project deliverables based on various design inputs.
- Performs minor engineering computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
- Coordinates with cross-functional groups to minimize design interferences and errors.
- Evaluates methods and design activities to support continuous improvement and workflow efficiency.
- Maintains technical documentation and project files using digital design software.
- Proactively researches and shares knowledge of the latest drafting technologies and processes.
- Typically a minimum of 1 year related work experience.
- 1-2 years of experience with AutoDesk AutoCad (Bentley Microstation a plus).
