As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer on the Core Platform team, you will be the primary architect of the robot's physical form-designing innovative mechanisms, energy-absorbing structures, and high-precision motion systems. We are seeking an elite mechanical expert who brings:
High-Performance Design Experience: 5+ years of experience designing complex mechanical structures and motion mechanisms, ideally within robotics or high-precision industrial fields.
Advanced CAD & Optimization Mastery: Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (or NX/Creo) combined with practical experience in FEA and topology optimization for lightweight, high-strength components.
Precision Standards & GD&T: A deep understanding of ASME drafting standards and expert-level application of GD&T (Y14.5-2018).
Full Lifecycle NPI Expertise: Proven success in transitioning designs from early-stage concepts through EVT/DVT and final production.
Material & Process Versatility: Familiarity with diverse manufacturing processes, including casting, composites, hydroforming, and the design of compliant, energy-absorbing structures.

Requirement Transformation: Interpret broad, open-ended project requirements and transform them into detailed, pragmatic design specifications for new robotic systems.
Mechanism & Interface Innovation: Design and refine innovative mechanisms and structures, from high-performance motion interfaces to ergonomic and crash-protective robot coverings.
Comprehensive CAD & Documentation: Create and manage high-fidelity CAD models, engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and rigorous test plans.
Structural Analysis & Validation: Perform deep technical analyses on new designs and conduct physical bench tests to ensure all components meet safety and performance standards.
Technical Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors for outsourced components, ensuring third-party designs meet the company's stringent quality and precision requirements.
