A Construction Inspector is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Scranton, PA area. This is a field-based role responsible for supervising fiber optic construction vendors, ensuring all installations meet quality and safety standards, and providing real-time production reporting for large-scale FTTH projects.

responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary onsite inspector for fiber optic (FTTH) construction projects for a major customer in Pennsylvania.
- Maintain a local presence within one hour of project sites and travel to job sites daily.
- Collect and report daily production data on vendor activities using the Sitetracker mobile platform.
- Monitor construction of SFU, MDU, and FTTB projects from the initial build through testing and turn-up.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure complete familiarity with project requirements.
- Verify that fiber optic plant installations meet customer guidelines and manufacturer Standard Recommended Procedures (SRP).
- Act as the onsite liaison to address Project Manager or customer concerns and direct contractor activities when necessary.
- Track and support material inventory consumption for all assigned projects.
- Enforce and adhere to safety regulations from all governing authorities.
- Perform rigorous quality inspections on ongoing and finished work using established checklists.
- Implement local construction methods and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and self-directed.
- Read and understand FTTX (fiber to the home) prints.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

- Ability to work outside normal scheduled business hours periodically.
- Fluent in English.
