Large utility is looking for an EPC Project Manager in Jackson, MI. This role requires a degree-qualified project manager with heavy industrial field experience and PMP aspirations to lead the full lifecycle of power plant retrofit projects, managing everything from budgets and schedules to high-level stakeholder communication and cross-departmental alignment. responsibilities:
- Define project scope precisely and develop evolving project schedules.
- Propose and manage project budgets to prevent cost overruns.
- Secure necessary supplies and human resources for timely project completion.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure all team members clearly understand their specific roles and responsibilities.
- Communicate project progress and milestones regularly to senior management.
- Oversee the quality of team performance and all materials used.
- Serve as the primary customer interface for issues regarding scope, safety, and cost.
- Lead team members by example and foster a positive professional environment.
- Coordinate across EPM and plant organizations to ensure alignment.
- Collaborate with engineering, cost control, construction, and testing departments.
- Manage relationships with Architect/Engineering firms for timely support.
- Experience in retrofit construction projects in a heavy industrial setting preferred. Retrofit project management experience in a generating plant environment is desired.
- Field experience in a heavy industrial setting is required.
- Power plant experience is preferred.
- The candidate must know the business of project management and have good project management leadership skills.
- Generating Plant Operations experience is desired.
- Highly organized with the ability to actively align the project with the department and Company business needs and goals.
- Good communication skills including conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to solve a range of problems quickly utilizing project management methodologies.
