Remote Position! An energy technology company is hiring a Technical / CAD Designer. This role requires at least three to five years of structural drafting experience in heavy industrial or nuclear sectors and proficiency in Revit to develop complex 3D models, 2D drawings, and cross-discipline coordination within the Autodesk suite. This is a 12 months contract.

responsibilities:
- Prepare 3D Revit structural models and 2D drawings of structural building systems.
- Develop detailed 2D cross sections and section details for structural systems.
- Create definitions for parts, modules, and assemblies through 3D modeling.
- Manage electronic data formats and tolerance stack-ups to support manufacturing and assembly.
- Apply analytical thinking and structural discipline knowledge to execute technical strategies.
- Use structural drafting best practices to coordinate with mechanical piping, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Apply design principles and drafting procedures to all design activities.
- Manage and issue models in the Autodesk Construction Cloud tool in coordination with the BIM coordinator.
- Enforce the project configuration management plan during model issuance.
- Support the Civil Structural Team with 3D modeling tasks using Navisworks and Revit.
- Maintain proficiency in the Autodesk suite of tools.
- Utilize multiple internal and external sources to inform technical decision-making.
- Associates degree in Structural Design or a similar field.
- Three years of structural drafting experience in heavy industrial, thermal power, or nuclear industries for degree holders.
- Minimum of five years of relevant structural drafting experience for those without a specific degree.
- At least three years of professional experience specifically using Revit for structural modeling.
- Ability to pass a nuclear security background check for site access.
- Experience managing project work schedules and task priorities.
- Ability to work proactively with engineering teams to develop models within the Autodesk tool suite.
- Experience executing work plans within a team environment to ensure mission success.
- History of performing work in strict compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Competency in Microsoft products and collaboration software like Microsoft Teams.
- Advanced knowledge regarding the creation of Revit families.
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor.
- Familiarity with Autodesk BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Experience utilizing Autodesk Vault for data management.
