Remote Position! An energy technology company is hiring a Technical / CAD Designer. This role requires at least three to five years of structural drafting experience in heavy industrial or nuclear sectors and proficiency in Revit to develop complex 3D models, 2D drawings, and cross-discipline coordination within the Autodesk suite. This is a 12 months contract.

responsibilities:
- Check 3D Revit structural models and 2D drawings for structural building systems.
- Verify definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in 3D models and 2D cross sections.
- Review section details and tolerance stack-ups to support manufacturing and inspection.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of structural disciplines and analytical thinking to execute strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of structural drafting best practices and interfaces with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Utilize design principles and drafting procedures for all design activities.
- Coordinate with the BIM coordinator to manage models in Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Enforce the configuration management plan for all issued models.
- Support the Civil Structural Team with 3D modeling using Navisworks and Revit.
- Maintain high proficiency in Revit and the broader Autodesk suite of tools.
- Use technical experience to make decisions based on internal and external data sources.
- Associates degree in Structural Design or similar with 5 years of experience in heavy industrial or nuclear drafting.
- Alternative of 10 years of relevant work experience in structural drafting for heavy industrial or power industries.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience using Revit for structural modeling.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in a drafting or modeling checker role.
- Ability to pass a mandatory nuclear security background check for facility access.
- Serve as a drafting and modeling checker to ensure compliance with standards.
- Manage project work schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Work proactively with engineering teams to develop models within the Autodesk suite.
- Collaborate within a team environment to execute mission-critical work plans.
- Perform all duties in strict compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate competency in Microsoft products and Microsoft Teams.
- Apply advanced knowledge of Revit family creation.
- Utilize Autodesk Inventor for specialized design tasks.
- Use Autodesk BIM360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud for project management.
- Manage data using the Autodesk Vault software.
