A Station Electrical Engineer Senior is needed for a world class utility company in the Roanoke, VA area. This role will serve as a lead technical expert and mentor within the substation engineering department ensuring design quality, maintaining NESC compliance, and training regional teams to deliver safe and reliable high-voltage power infrastructure.

responsibilities:
- Lead as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on multiple technical topics related to substation engineering.
- Support regional teams by collaborating with other Station Engineering experts to solve complex technical challenges.
- Conduct rigorous quality reviews with the Station Engineering Production team to ensure design accuracy.
- Develop and deliver specialized training programs for the Station Engineering role.
- Lead and support high-priority special projects within the station engineering department.
- Mentor and train junior personnel to elevate the overall technical competency of the team.
- Ensure all designs and processes comply with NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) and current industry standards.
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in a program accredited by ABET
- Has typically acquired 6 or more years of related engineering experience.
- Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET), plus a Professional Engineers (PE) license in any state of the U.S. or
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
