A Quality Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Medford, NY area. This role involves advising production on line optimization, leading improvement projects, and collaborating across departments to ensure defect prevention and process compliance.

responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end non-conformance process to identify and resolve product defects.
- Evaluate and visualize quality data, specifically focusing on First Pass Yield (FPY) metrics.
- Advise production teams on quality standards during the setup or optimization of manufacturing lines.
- Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of quality issues directly on the production floor.
- Act as a strategic interface between Production, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure product quality.
- Develop value stream strategies to improve and modernize inspection procedures.
- Support R&D and engineering projects with a focus on error prevention (Poka-Yoke).
- Lead and coordinate continuous improvement projects across the manufacturing facility.
- Implement and maintain company-specific quality management processes and standards.
- Assist the Quality Manager in auditing and evaluating the overall management system.
- Apply technical expertise as a master technician or engineer to solve complex manufacturing problems.
- Experience and training in the field of Quality.
- Professional experience in the manufacturing industry in the field of Quality.
- strong knowledge of MS Office Applications.
- Diploma or University degree of applied sciences.
- Master technician, graduate engineer in a technical field.
