Our client is seeking a hit the ground running Hardware Test Engineer for a high-priority, semiconductor validation project. This role requires an engineer who is a doer. Canddates must have familiarity with semiconductor test environments and PCB testing workflows. Candidates must be proficient in soldering, rework, and modification of fine-pitch SMT.

responsibilities:
- Bring up and connect custom test hardware to DUTs for testing, ensuring proper functionality and reliable operation.
- Ability to perform soldering, rework, and modification of fine-pitch SMT and through-hole components to support evaluation and characterization.
- Develop and perform electrical characterization tests in accordance with defined procedures and specifications.
- Debug and troubleshoot PCBs and test boards, isolating electrical and assembly issues.
- Document test board designs, setup configurations, and bench characterization/ validation results in shared repositories for traceability.
- Assemble and maintain complex test setups, integrating instruments, DUTs, power supplies, and custom fixtures.
- Operate, script, and automate tests with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, SMUs, spectrum/network analyzers, DAQs, etc.) to capture high-quality measurement data. Familiarity with coding languages such as python, C, MATLAB is a plus
- Must have a minimum of 4-5 years of experience to be able to hit the ground running.
- Must have experience in the semiconductor industry, specifically with testing PCB boards.
- Must be proficient in handling small SMT level components; hands-on soldering and rework skills are mandatory for independent setup changes.
- Must be capable of independent setup changes and executing existing automation scripts (Command Line/Python) without requiring a steep learning curve
