responsibilities:
- Track and control all costs associated with large-scale construction projects or portfolios.
- Develop monthly, annual, and project-lifetime cost forecasts.
- Manage contractor project control deliverables in alignment with contractual requirements.
- Assemble comprehensive project financial status reports for stakeholders.
- Administer and manage project change control activities.
- Communicate project financial performance and variances to upper management and team members.
- Interpret engineering and construction contracts to ensure adherence to financial requirements.
- Analyze and interpret project schedules to produce accurate cost forecasting.
- Utilize advanced Excel and basic computing skills to manage project data.
- Implement project controls methodologies for projects exceeding three years in scope.
- Provide verifiable work experience in direct cost management for major construction efforts.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial alignment with project milestones.
- Communication skills are also key for this position, being able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with upper management and project team members.
- Although candidates are not expected to be experienced with the creation of project schedules, they must be able to demonstrate their ability to understand and interpret project schedules in order to effectively forecast project costs.
- Proficiencies in basic computing skills and the use of Excel spreadsheets are a strict requirement.
- Experience using SAP is desirable, but not required.
- Higher educational degrees in construction/project management or engineering are desirable, but degrees in business, accounting, or finance are also suitable.
- 3 years of experience implementing project controls methodologies on large-scale construction projects, or a large portfolio of projects.
- Certifications from PMI or AACE will set candidates apart from others.
