responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for construction projects.
- Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure accurate pricing and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, including detailed breakdowns of costs.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as necessary based on changes in scope or unforeseen circumstances.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to projects.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software (Bluebeam, HeavyBid).
- Negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Experience in cost control techniques and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices.
- Understanding of contracts related to construction projects.
- Previous experience working on construction sites is highly desirable.
- Excellent project management skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
