A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. This role will be focusing on developing and executing automated tests in Python and C++ to validate embedded software features for high-stakes safety and detection products.

responsibilities:
- Research and test the design, functionality, and maintenance of software features for embedded electronic controls in robotics.
- Develop and execute automated test designs and Python scripts to validate safety-detect machine applications.
- Decompose system requirements into detailed design, development, and integration tasks.
- Perform feature development using embedded C++, Linux, and GitHub within an Agile Sprint environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues through triage and technical analysis.
- Design sampling procedures and reporting instructions to evaluate quality and reliability data.
- Propose technical solutions and corrective actions when features fail established test criteria.
- Create validation plans and verify the precision of testing and measurement equipment.
- Collaborate with a global, culturally diverse team of machine, systems, and software engineers.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and technical design reviews to ensure project alignment.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
- 5-7 years experience required.
