A Quality Inspector is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Simpsonville, SC area. This Quality Inspector role focuses on high-level First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102 standards, requiring the ability to interpret technical drawings, use precision measuring tools, and communicate quality data to both internal teams and customers.

responsibilities:
- Create and review comprehensive First Article Inspections (FAIs) and Delta FAIs in strict accordance with AS9102 requirements.
- Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections following specific Job Instruction Sheet plans.
- Apply extensive knowledge of WHMA and IPC specifications to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Execute ballooning of engineering drawings to facilitate accurate FAI completion.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use and maintenance of precision gages, micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
- Interpret complex technical drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Complete all quality documentation and paperwork, including the application of inspection stamps.
- Communicate the status of FAIs effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Interact with customers via on-site meetings or calls to explain FAI results and methodologies.
- Generate technical reports using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Maintain and improve 5S standards at workstations to ensure an organized and safe environment.
- Adhere to all company Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and guidelines.
- Identify and resolve quality discrepancies during various stages of the manufacturing process.
- Able to interpret technical (GD&T) drawings.
- Highly proficient in using hand held tools (micrometers, calipers, Optical Comparator and other measuring and test equipment.
- General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Able to raise simple reports.
- Understand CORE tools.
- Certified Quality Inspector.
