Three Engineering Laboratory Technicians are needed for an American multinational home appliances corporation in the Charlotte, NC area. This is a technical role focused on the mechanical and electrical setup, troubleshooting, and testing of large-scale industrial chillers in a laboratory environment. One position is 1st shift, the next is 2nd shift (2:30pm to 12:00am), and the last is 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM).

responsibilities:
- Set up and tear down large water-cooled chillers for engineering testing under moderate supervision.
- Connect and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
- Operate and maintain test equipment to identify malfunctions and ensure proper functionality.
- Apply HVAC knowledge and refrigerant handling skills to equipment testing.
- Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain Arc Flash safety standards.
- Use hand and pneumatic tools for precise mechanical assembly and disassembly.
- Install, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory instrumentation for pressure, temperature, and electrical measurement.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
- Operate industrial machinery such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
- strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting background, and be mechanically inclined.
- Mechanical skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools.
- Experience with HVAC or other large commercial equipment.
- Commercial HVAC Industrial or operation experience preferred.
- Experience with Instrumentation set up, troubleshooting and calibration.
- Set-up of laboratory equipment with pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements is very important.
- strong PC skills.
- Experience or familiarity with forklift and overhead crane operation preferred.
- Reading and interpreting complex drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
