A HVAC Lab Technician is needed for an American multinational home appliances corporation in the Charlotte, NC area. This role is responsible for the high-efficiency operation, calibration, and performance testing of commercial chillers in a laboratory environment, requiring 5+ years of HVAC expertise and strong technical leadership.

responsibilities:
- Support the testing, evaluation, and development of water-cooled and air-cooled commercial chillers.
- Set up test environments, including the installation and calibration of laboratory instrumentation for pressure, temperature, and flow.
- Operate and troubleshoot complex electrical systems, including 460V machinery and VFDs.
- Manage refrigeration systems and refrigerant handling in compliance with EPA certifications.
- Execute loop calibrations and manage single or double-loop valve configurations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on lab equipment to maximize uptime and report instrument failures.
- Collect and analyze test data to produce detailed technical reports and status updates.
- Diagnose and resolve testing hurdles by consulting with engineering and development partners.
- Lead and coach team members on measurement techniques and system troubleshooting.
- Champion workplace safety, 5S methodologies, and corporate EHS policies.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
Education and Experience:
- Technical/Business School Certificate or High School Diploma or GED or
- 5 + Yrs experience in Chiller/Hvac operations, station and chiller and/or 5 years' experience in laboratory environment, for mechanical/electrical machinery.
- 5+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools, advanced shop mathematics, complex measuring equipment, precision measuring instruments and other tools
