Leading engineering firm in Fort Worth, TX is looking to add a Substation Engineer. This person will need physical substation design experience to drive the delivery of complex utility projects from initial concept to final commissioning, while ensuring quality control. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives on bridging the gap between sophisticated electrical engineering and strategic project management. PE is highly preferred in this onsite position.

responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Directs substation projects from conceptual design through completion, ensuring all deliverables meet schedule, budget, and client satisfaction benchmarks.
- Technical Design & Engineering: Oversees the development of comprehensive design packages, including physical arrangements, protective relaying, and critical electrical studies (grounding, lightning, and security).
- Systems Calculation & Specification: Leads complex engineering calculations for DC systems, battery sizing, and cable/conduit routing while generating precise equipment specifications and bills of materials.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensures strict adherence to IEEE and NESC standards through rigorous design quality reviews (QA/QC) and technical field inspections.
- Strategic Planning: Drives business growth by leading proposal preparation, resolving complex technical issues, and maintaining key client relationships.
