An Electronic Lab Technician is needed for a multinational power management company in the Raleigh, NC area. This role is focused on advanced electronic testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) verification, requiring a mix of PCB rework, test automation scripting, and high-power lab safety.

responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior technical expert supporting the research, development, and testing of complex electronic systems.
- Develop and maintain test fixtures for embedded system verification and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
- Assemble hardware racks and fabricate wire harnesses based on technical schematics and layouts.
- Perform precision soldering, PCB rework, and board-level diagnostics.
- Develop automation scripts using Python, Robot Framework, or Selenium to execute test plans.
- Utilize OPAL-RT or similar HIL systems to verify device performance and evaluate new products.
- Conduct manual and automated testing in high-power labs containing hazardous voltages.
- Triage failed test cases, document defects in JIRA/Zephyr, and troubleshoot system issues.
- Coordinate lab logistics including parts procurement, shipping, and network infrastructure setup.
- Collaborate with engineers to improve electronic device designs and experimental procedures.
- Ensure a zero-incident workplace by strictly adhering to high-voltage safety protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and communicate maintenance schedules to the team.
- Proficiency in electronic test equipment and instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in a laboratory or technical environment, with a focus on electronics.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
- strong understanding of electronic principles, circuits, and components.
- Experience with electronic design tools and software, such as schematic capture and PCB layout software.
- Experience with test management software such as JIRA and Zephyr.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems.
- Knowledge of programming languages for embedded systems (e.g., C, Python).
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for electronic design and testing.
- Certification in electronics or related field (e.g., IPC certification).
