A Manufacturing Engineer is needed for a major U.S. defense contractor and industrial corporation with core manufacturing concentrations in weapons and military and commercial electronics in the Miami, FL area. This engineer role is responsible for leading large-scale capital projects, managing technical documentation, and providing shop-floor support to optimize landing gear repair and overhaul operations in a regulated aerospace environment.

responsibilities:
- Serve as an onsite engineering lead for landing gear Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations.
- Execute large-scale CAPEX projects from equipment selection and layout to commissioning and production handover.
- Translate operational requirements into manufacturing solutions that enhance safety, quality, capacity, and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, EH&S, quality, and supply chain to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Author and maintain master manufacturing plans, routers, work instructions, and Bills of Material.
- Manage the onboarding of new programs by creating production plans and shop-floor integration strategies.
- Procure, install, and validate specialized tooling and equipment, including issuing purchase orders and conducting safety reviews.
- Provide direct shop-floor technical support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control system issues.
- Review and interpret engineering specifications, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and technical drawings.
- Facilitate the correction of drawing errors and review technical documentation prepared by other staff.
- Perform equipment acceptance, process validation, and capability assessments.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and equipment failures.
