A Cooling Test Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Tucson, AZ area. This position is focused on the thermodynamic testing of heavy machinery, responsible for instrumentation setup, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure system reliability.

responsibilities:
- Research and test product design, functionality, and maintenance to develop robust quality standards.
- Create sampling procedures and design forms for recording and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, testing, and analytical equipment.
- Draft training materials and lead sessions on quality control activities and protocols.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and CAD reports to evaluate product integrity.
- Direct workers in measuring products and tabulating data regarding material and process reliability.
- Plan, set up, and execute tests, followed by analyzing and reporting results and recommendations.
- Support senior engineers by overseeing instrumentation setup, including thermocouples, pressure transducers, and flow meters.
- Collaborate with Cooling and Machine Validation Engineers to review designs and develop test plans.
- Drive machine instrumentation and run tests in partnership with machine operators.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and provide technical recommendations to Product Design teams.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables as technical competency increases.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Basic leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- A BS degree in an Engineering curriculum that included Thermodynamics/Fluid Dynamics (Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
- 5-7 years of experience.
