A Process Qualifications Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. A data-driven Process Engineer focused on qualifying equipment, optimizing high-speed fiber optic manufacturing through statistical analysis (SPC/DoE), and leading 6-Sigma initiatives to improve yield and throughput.

responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on engineering support to qualify manufacturing processes and equipment in a fiber optic cabling plant.
- Collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team including mechanical, electrical, controls, and IT specialists.
- Design and execute experiments (DoE) to expand process understanding and support technology deployment.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify relationships, line performance capabilities, and root causes.
- Utilize software packages like JMP, Minitab, and Power-BI for data interpretation and visualization.
- Lead equipment start-up activities, including setting test equipment and adjusting parameters.
- Drive manufacturing improvements focused on variability reduction, defect reduction, and 6-Sigma initiatives.
- Identify and resolve production challenges using engineering methodologies such as TRIZ, KT-PA, and MEE.
- Develop and maintain standard work documentation, including SOPs, job aids, and training materials.
- Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor and improve process stability and throughput.
- Ensure all engineering activities and process changes adhere to strict safe work practices.
- Present data-driven results and technical recommendations to leadership and project stakeholders.
- Effective technical leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.
