A Process Qualifications Engineering Leader is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. This role is responsible for managing cross-functional teams and project timelines to successfully start up, qualify, and optimize high-speed fiber optic production lines.

responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior project leader for the startup and qualification of multiple high-speed fiber optic cable production lines.
- Manage a multidisciplinary team including mechanical, electrical, controls, IT, and facilities personnel.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project timelines to meet specific customer requirements.
- Interface directly with plant and division leadership to coordinate high-level team activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols by all team members and external contractors.
- Lead the execution of equipment startup, parameter adjustment, and data collection.
- Champion process improvements focused on variability reduction, throughput, and 6-Sigma initiatives.
- Facilitate root cause identification and resolution using tools like TRIZ, KT-PA, and MEE.
- Oversee the creation of standard work documentation, including SOPs and training aids.
- Apply data-driven decision-making and visualization to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Provide technical expertise in high-speed cable manufacturing processes such as jacketing and stranding.
- Experience with high-speed optical fiber cable manufacturing equipment is a plus (jacketing, ribbon stranding, buffering)
- Effective technical leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.
