A Buyer is needed for a company that produces electronics and HVAC equipment for buildings in the Waynesboro, PA area. This role is focused on managing the end-to-end procurement process from MRP analysis and PO placement in SAP to supplier development and inventory optimization to ensure uninterrupted production and cost efficiency.

responsibilities:
- Develop and manage suppliers and intercompany feeder plants to ensure consistent material supply.
- Execute cost-saving projects and manage inventory levels to reduce excess and obsolete stock.
- Analyze MRP demand to replenish stocks and place purchase orders (PO/STO) in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with suppliers to secure firm delivery dates and ETAs to minimize stock-out risks.
- Maintain data accuracy within the SAP ERP system, including receipts and invoice discrepancy resolution.
- Attend daily production meetings and communicate material shortages or risks to planning and production teams.
- Process exception messages and monitor open purchase order lines to prevent past-due deliveries.
- Escalate procurement issues through official channels like JIRA and perform Line of Balance (LOB) analysis.
- Provide monthly forecasts to vendors and monitor their performance regarding on-time delivery.
- Support engineering changes, ISO requirements, and quality escalations related to purchased items.
- Experience working with Purchasing, Planning and Production areas.
- MRP (materials requirement planning).
- Knowledge of SAP (preferably).
- Experience in a manufacturing planning program and production sequences.
- strong decision-making Communication, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Bachelor's Degree or
- 3 years of experience in purchasing/planning role.
