Growing renewable energy company is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate all civil construction activities for an exciting new utility-scale solar project near Delevan, IL. This is a vital role instrumental in the day-to-day construction of a utilty scale commercial solar farm. Per diem, mobilization, demobilization, and monthly trips home will be paid.

responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and verifying qualified and trained personnel are on-site.
- Review and provide direction on all civil engineering and design to ensure project requirements are met.
- Review bid packages for accuracy, completeness, and civil work scope for contractors.
- Communicate with the Site Manager for immediate review of civil information and any job changes.
- Coordinate civil works with other job planning functions (such as PV Pile and PV panel installation).
- Supervise Contractors on-site, ensuring adherence to all policies, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate Contractors to maximize production and minimize costs.
- Act as a civil consultant, advising on foundation, cable trench, substation buildings, roads, and all civil work involved with high-voltage power plant projects.
- Conduct meetings with civil engineers, contractors, and utility personnel.
- Monitor and verify civil Contractor's installation activities and progress, tracking against production goals and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Support the Site Construction Manager in producing clear and complete daily construction reports.
- Collaborate with BOP (Balance of Plant) and Equipment Providers to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with all federal and state safety regulations, aiming for "Zero" accidents.
- Assist the Site Manager in communicating and negotiating with the owner regarding major project decisions.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the project schedule, coordinating work with contractors, utility groups, and owners.
- Monitor actual costs against the job estimate and inform the Site Manager of cost over-runs.
- Be responsible for the safety and skill evaluation of Contractors.
- Arrange for engineering support, consultation, and peer review of critical civil issues.
- 5-10 years of experience supporting major utility-scale construction projects (power stations, supply networks, solar, wind, or BESS preferred)
- Experience with solar power plant operations and equipment
- Substantial construction field experience, as well as the ability to perform administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Excellent understanding of safety construction & commissioning.
- Ability to supervise Contractors effectively.
- Good communication skills to deal with owners, Contractors, and employees.
- Possess a solid understanding of tracking job progress.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
- Per diem available for qualified candidates, trips home, etc
