responsibilities:
- Apply advanced engineering and commissioning principles to independently resolve complex technical problems.
- Oversee commissioning planning, implementation, quality control, scheduling, and budgeting for construction projects.
- Define testing scopes and communicate progress updates to management.
- Provide supervisory oversight for employees and technical work groups during equipment checkout and startup.
- Develop and revise Operating Procedures, Alarm Response Procedures, and Maintenance Procedures.
- Create and deliver training materials and schedules for newly installed equipment.
- Generate design validation and project turnover packages for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Manage or perform component-level testing on low, medium, and high-voltage cables, transformers, motors, and switchgear.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and test I&C systems including DCS, PLC, and SCADA.
- Ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply engineering/commissioning theory to solve complex problems.
- Ability to create procedures and train users for the safe and excellent operation and maintenance of equipment and associated systems installed with the project.
- Knowledge and/or experience in utility operations and application of utility trends.
- strong understanding of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, industrial instrumentation, and controls.
- strong understanding of testing standards (IEEE, NETA, etc.), methods and the application thereof.
- Skill in supervisory practices/application supervising non-exempt employees and contractors.
- strong computer skills and knowledge of various Microsoft applications.
- Reading electrical schematics & P&ID's.
- Performing/managing instruments & electrical components,mechanical testing, experience or exposure to NEC, NFPA 70E, knowledge in OSHA 10 & 30, NERC standards and compliance, MPSC Gas Code.
- Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or technical field with four or more years of experience or
- Associate's Degree in a scientific or technical field with six or more years of experience or
- High School Diploma/GED with eight or more years of experience.
