Our client is seeking a strategic, "working leader" to serve as a Sr. Manager of Engineering, bridging the gap between high-level R&D and hands-on manufacturing execution. In this role, you will own a multi-year product roadmap, serving as the technical SME for fluid dynamics and electro-mechanical automation while fostering a performance-driven culture. responsibilities:
- Define and execute a multi-year R&D strategy that aligns technical innovation with aggressive commercial growth
- Lead Electro-Mechanical Innovation: Act as the SME for Fluid Dynamics and lead the integration of smart products (PLC/Controls/Automation)
- Optimize Systems: Own the engineering tech stack (SolidWorks, PDM, ERP) to ensure a "single source of truth" from design to the shop floor
- Champion DFM: Partner with Operations to implement robotic welding, CNC automation, and advanced metrology to increase throughput
- Build the Culture: Mentor a multi-disciplinary team, defining clear KPIs and career paths that reward both innovation and execution
- 10+ years in industrial manufacturing with at least 10 years in a leadership role (Sr. Manager or Director)
- Technical Chops: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks & PDM; deep expertise in Fluid Dynamics (pumps, valves, filtration)
- Automation Fluency: Ability to review automation logic (PLC/HMI) and manage electromechanical integration
- Business Acumen: Experience managing department budgets, IP portfolios, and integrating CAD data with ERP systems
- Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred) or related technical field training
