A Project Engineer for a medical devices and equipment manufacturing company is needed in the Mahwah, NJ area. This role focuses on sustaining and improving medical implant and instrument designs through CAD modeling, technical documentation, and rigorous regulatory compliance in a cross-functional environment.

responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and support to sustaining engineering teams for orthopedic implants and instruments.
- Advance projects through continuous improvement initiatives within complex, multifunctional teams.
- Author technical protocols, reports, and memos to document engineering findings.
- Apply knowledge of surgical procedures to create innovative solutions for clinical needs.
- Support global regulatory submissions (FDA and international) by providing design rationales and ensuring standard compliance.
- Audit legacy testing and design control documentation to ensure necessary evidence is maintained.
- Conduct tolerance analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure product integrity.
- Manage risk and maintain design controls within a highly regulated industry environment.
- Communicate complex engineering principles effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using ProE/Creo software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage design and manufacturing changes for existing products.
- Interpret and apply engineering drawings, test reports, and design control documents independently.
- Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline.
- Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
- 1-2+ years of product design experience in medical device industry or other regulated industry.
