A Process Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Canton, NY area. This role will operate analytical tools like XRF and particle analysis, prepare glass samples, and document processes while collaborating with scientists to improve metrology methods and support lean manufacturing initiatives.

responsibilities:
- Perform daily product inspection support using XRF, bulk density, and loss on drying measurements.
- Conduct particle analysis techniques and support A-LIIST metrology as needed.
- Prepare glass samples for analysis and meticulously detail the preparation process.
- Operate and maintain analytical lab equipment with a high focus on repeatability and detail.
- Support the installation and qualification of new manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and test novel methods for operating existing machinery.
- Create and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS).
- Implement lean manufacturing principles, including 5S initiatives, to optimize workflows.
- Identify, document, and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on lab and production tools.
- Execute experiments by tracking parts, setting up equipment, and recording data.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to complete assigned tasks.
- Experience with scheduling tools, navigating stakeholder and location availability.
- strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail in data entry, documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ability to anticipate needs, follow up on open items, and independently resolve routine issues.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills for interacting with engineers, leadership, vendors, and cross functional teams.
- BA degree preferred,
- Associate's or
- HS Diploma/GED with relevant experience minimum required.
- 1-7 years work experience, manufacturing or lab setting preferred but not required.
