An Associate Engineering Technician is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area. This role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering design to support technical teams through the use of Autodesk Civil 3D or MicroStation while maintaining project documentation and meeting quality standards.

responsibilities:
- Support engineering teams under general supervision.
- Perform technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Use digital tools and design software such as CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling.
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
- Stay current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, and company policies.
- Apply knowledge of the quality program to ensure accurate and compliant deliverables.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use and expand applications to improve methods, processes, and procedures.
- Create and develop project deliverables based on various design inputs.
- Perform basic computations including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
- Coordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences.
- Support internal client needs while learning external client priorities and drivers.
- Proactively seek out and apply knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes.
- Use Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation.
- Apply basic Civil 3D experience with alignments, pipe networks, plan/profile, and sections.
- Apply basic Civil 3D experience with proposed grading and surfaces.
- Possess a required Diploma or Certificate.
- Possess a preferred Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Related Technology.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
