A Technical Writer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Newton, NC area. This role requires a bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience to develop, manage, and edit complex technical documentation using tools like Adobe FrameMaker or MadCap Flare while collaborating with subject matter experts in an Agile environment to ensure information accuracy and accessibility.

responsibilities:
- Create and organize user manuals, installation guides, online help, FAQs, and release notes.
- Ensure documentation meets high-quality standards and aligns with company branding and tone.
- Gather technical information by working closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and developers.
- Participate in product design and review meetings to stay updated on current functionality.
- Research technical concepts and user workflows to create user-friendly documentation.
- Identify gaps in existing documentation and recommend necessary improvements.
- Manage documentation repositories and version control using tools like Confluence, SharePoint, or Git.
- Update documentation consistently to reflect product changes and customer feedback.
- Use professional tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or Markdown editors.
- Maintain and update templates to ensure consistency across all documentation.
- Proofread and edit content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and style guide compliance.
- Conduct usability testing and solicit feedback to improve documentation effectiveness.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines and report status to stakeholders.
- Possess a bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, communications, or computer science.
- Have 3 to 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a technology-driven industry.
- Maintain experience working with Agile teams or within software development environments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Windchill, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, or similar platforms.
- Show familiarity with content management systems and version control tools like Git and GitHub.
- Apply basic knowledge of programming languages, APIs, or software development processes.
- Utilize AI-based tools for document enhancement, organization, and training modules.
- Explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced settings.
- Apply strong organizational and time management skills to handle shifting priorities.
- Utilize a problem-solving mindset and adapt to changing project needs.
- Apply familiarity with UX/UI principles or visual design tools.
