Engineering Manager needed for an immediate direct hire role in the Burlington, MA area! This person will be managing engineering personnel and project activities that will meet project deliverables, driving common practices for project engineering, design, NPD estimating as well as improving efficienclies around the current ERP system.
The right person will be a degreed engineer with a minimum of 7+ years of related engineering leadership experience in a metal fabrication environment along with the proven desire to always grow and drive continuous improvement through value engineering methodologies. responsibilities:
- Mangage engineering personnel and project activities that will meet project deliverables
- Drive common practices for project engineering, design, NPD estimating as well as improving efficienclies around the current ERP system
- Develop revision controlled BOM structures, configuration control, methods, use of instructions, and process design
- Provide development and training to engineering team
- Manage scheduled plans, engineer staffing, goals, and projects for team
- Provide technical presentations to existing and new customers or vendors where required
- Oversee new project execution and NPD from initial process design through first article shipment, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- BS degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 7+ years related engineering leadership experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to completely manage a project from start to finish for on-time, on cost meeting full technical requirements
- Great communication skills with the ability to mentor, train, and guide less experienced peers
- Must be a self-starter with strategic planning skills.
- Have experience of strategic planning and demonstrated problem solving skills and desire to grow in the role and apply new technologies
- Must be a self-starter with a willingness to take ownership and initiative on a new project/task from concept through completion
- Familiar with typical fabrication processes such as sheet metal forming, rolling, assembly, welding, heat treating, machining and proficient in SolidWorks and MS Office products
- Ability to handle multiple projects
