An energy technology company is hiring a Process Control Engineer to lead structural analysis and new nuclear plant projects. This role requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field and at least 7 years of industry-related controls experience, including 5 years in nuclear protection and monitoring systems, to lead the design, programming, and documentation of dcs and hmi solutions using mark vie and cimplicity platforms. This is a 12 months contract.

responsibilities:
- perform a range of activities to design and development utilizing the mark vie dcs, cimplicity hmi development, and/or the bosch rexroth motor controller
- deliver hardware identification and testing, controls cabinet design, application programming, and simulation modeling
- ensure all work is compliant with geh qap procedures, work instructions, and guides
- participate in and support various types of systems software requirements management, design, programming, test, and documentation
- act as a practitioner in all aspects of control and monitoring systems comprised of power plant fluidic, mechanical, and electric systems
- maintain a solid understanding of diverse bop systems as well as their interface to the prime energy source and power conversion
- work inclusively in a team led by technical leads and project managers in the design, development, and commissioning of control system solutions
- coordinate with leadership and customers for design inputs, scope, engineering labor budgets, and schedule management
- prepare key documentation such as design input requests, system design descriptions, i/o lists, logic diagrams, and test plans
- develop dcs hardware configurations and software applications using toolboxst, controlst, cimplicity, and activepoint ux hmi library
- interface with third party equipment using data communication protocols such as opc, hart, ffb, modbus, profibus, and iec
- provide leadership for assuring design execution in agreement with requirements, reliability standards, and regulatory guidance
- bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, nuclear, computer science, or equivalent engineering degree
- minimum of 7 years of industry related controls experience
- 5 years of experience with architecture, design, and software programming of protection and monitoring systems in nuclear power plants or fuel facilities
- 4 years of experience implementing digital systems hardware and software development lifecycles for computer based safety instrumented systems
- 4 years of experience with diverse digital computer based systems hardware and software technology stacks, including real time operating systems
- 4 years of experience with tools such as compilers, cyber security scanners, or configurators
- 4 years of experience with digital safety systems architectures, specifically ge mark vie or ge mark vies
- 4 years of experience using microsoft office and visio at an expert level
- 3 years of experience with technical writing focused on plans, procedures, guides, and requirements specifications
- strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills in a complex environment
- excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills across written and verbal formats
