Seeking a seasoned Construction Manager for an immediate, 600 hour, hands-on role at our clients St. Louis Life Science campus to oversee active capital projects through critical construction and commissioning phases. We need a safety-first leader with at least ten years of experience who can hit the ground running mid-project, seamlessly coordinating between engineering, site operations, and general contractors. This role requires a professional comfortable with the complexities of brownfield construction in an operating lab environment, including enforcing "build clean" protocols and managing site-wide outages. responsibilities:
- Take over day-to-day construction management for ongoing capital projects already in progress
- Act as a primary liaison between the project manager, engineering teams, general contractors, and site operations
- Enforce strict site safety protocols and provide safety training to onsite personnel
- Review and approve critical lift plans for the installation of heavy equipment
- Manage and execute build clean protocols specific to life science environments
- Coordinate complex utility or facility outages with other departments to minimize disruption to active operations
- Evaluate construction bids and provide technical recommendations for vendor selection
- Oversee the scheduling of all construction activities, including managing 24/7 shifts during high-intensity project phases
- Analyze and provide feedback on project change notices and vendor change orders
- Direct the physical means and methods of construction to ensure technical specifications are met
- Ensure all site and departmental responsibilities are fulfilled according to the project delivery model
- Support commissioning activities as projects move toward completion
