An energy technology company is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead structural analysis and new nuclear plant projects. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and specialized expertise in FOAK (First-of-a-Kind) hardware design to develop 3D models, conduct mechanical analysis, and ensure strict compliance with ASME and Nuclear Quality standards throughout the plant modification process. This is a 12 months contract.

responsibilities:
- Requires expertise in mechanical design for nuclear plant hardware modifications and component development.
- Requires experience with First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) hardware design and implementation.
- Prepares 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Performs mechanical analysis to support the hardware development lifecycle.
- Collaborates with Tooling and Analysis teams to ensure designs meet Nuclear Quality and Safety standards.
- Communicates technical design challenges and project schedules to Field Deployment and Project Management teams.
- Leads formal design reviews to present concepts to engineering peers and leadership for feedback.
- Provides technical and documentation support throughout the procurement and fabrication processes.
- Documents final designs to ensure full compliance with ASME Codes and nuclear industry standards.

- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ year experience with mechanical design engineering.
