A Customer Care Representative is needed for a company that transports, distributes and generates energy, with diversified assets that include a balance between crude oil and natural gas in the Gastonia, NC area. This role is focused on resolving billing issues, managing energy service requests, and negotiating payment arrangements while maintaining high regulatory and safety standards in a fast-paced call center environment.

responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers via incoming calls regarding billing, payments, and service requests.
- Establish trust and provide immediate, professional solutions to customer inquiries and needs.
- Adhere to strict performance standards, regulatory requirements, and operational efficiency targets.
- Utilize Customer Information Systems and Microsoft Office applications to manage data and accounts.
- Manage sensitive situations including service terminations, credit challenges, and potential gas-related emergencies.
- Negotiate payment plans according to defined guidelines and refer customers to external assistance agencies when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and follow-up on account actions with high attention to detail.
- Perform administrative tasks and support team goals in a fast-paced environment.
- De-escalate interactions with irate or difficult customers using strong interpersonal skills.
- Operate independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical skills, decision making ability, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Must have basic knowledge of computers, including Customer Information Systems, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
