Our client, a leader in the interconnect industry is looking for a tooling engineer (injection molding). Key qualifications include, 6+ years of related experience in thermoplastics, thermosets, injection molding (e.g. product design, validation of tools), mold flows, troubleshooting and resolving tooling issues familiarity with molding processes.

responsibilities:
- End-to-End Tooling Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for complex injection mold projects, managing the entire lifecycle from initial concept and design through build, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and final qualification.
- Design & Engineering Excellence: Lead the design and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews for high-precision, multi-cavity tools, including specialized systems like hot runners and valve gates, while ensuring optimal steel selection and cooling strategies.
- Technical Validation & Simulation: Evaluate mold flow analysis and simulation results to drive design changes, and oversee mold trials and sampling to validate tool performance and part quality.
- Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement: Identify and resolve complex tooling issues (such as warp, flash, or dimensional variation) and implement cost-effective upgrades to improve cycle times and tool longevity.
- Documentation & Standards: Establish global tooling standards and maintenance best practices while maintaining meticulous records of design history, qualification reports, and technical risk assessments for leadership.
