An Assistant Superintendent / Construction Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization near Tuelo, MS to act as the owners' rep for a large plant project. The Assistant Superintendent will oversee general contractors and subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of facility projects according to plans and specifications. You will be responsible for administering contracts, monitoring site compliance, and implementing countermeasures to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of project management experience within a construction or A/E firm, specifically in industrial or commercial sectors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software like Primavera or AutoCAD are essential. This is a long-term contract role, and our client is only seeking local talent currently.

responsibilities:
- Lead and direct all on-site contractor activities, ensuring strict compliance with design documents and safety requirements
- Manage adherence to Construction Safety Requirements to maintain an incident-free work environment
- Review contractors change orders to validate scope and costs while providing daily field status reports for management
- Coordinate effectively between owners, contractors, and A/E firms while processing RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
- Manage punch-list activities, acceptance testing, and the delivery of as-built manuals and training to user groups
- Facilitate commissioning and start-up activities to ensure a seamless transition to plant operations
