Our client, a global leader in the chemicals industry, is targeting a Sr Mechanical Design Engineer in the Cincinnati Ohio area. This role will have full technical ownership of process designs, managing them from initial vision and 3D modeling to site start-up. Qualified candidates will have a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related technical field) and 8+ years of experience with design of process equipment.

responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD and Plant 3D to build, analyze, and maintain sophisticated 3D and 2D design files for comprehensive client engineering packages.
- Direct the continuous update and integration of P&IDs, leveraging Smart P&ID database functionality to ensure technical accuracy across all schematics.
- Execute critical hydraulic calculations to determine precise line sizing and establish specifications for pumps and various rotating equipment.
- Ensure all mechanical designs and equipment retrofits adhere to current industry standards, including TEMA, ASME, ASTM, API, and NFPA.
- Mentoring and managing a small mechanical design team while remaining a high-level individual contributor for project work.
