Our client, a leader in the aerospace and defense industry is looking for a Director of Spacecraft Mission Operations. Key qualifications include, 5+ years of experience in spacecraft operations, including leading an operations team and defining spacecraft operations architectures. A Bachelors degreen in a relevant field is required.

responsibilities:
- Mission & Spacecraft Leadership: Direct operations for multiple commercial spacecraft to ensure continuous, high-level mission performance.
- Ground System Infrastructure: Manage mission control centers, communication systems, and external ground antenna providers.
- Anomaly & Risk Management: Oversee real-time troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and risk mitigation to protect mission integrity.
- Planning & Documentation: Optimize 24/7 operational schedules, staffing, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration logs.
- Team & Stakeholder Coordination: Lead and mentor operations personnel while providing senior-level reporting to engineering teams and external partners.
