Project Engineer opportunity for an immediate 12-month contract in Waukegan, IL. Client is looking for candidates with an engineering degree and a proven background in process manufacturing environments, allowing them to make an immediate impact on active, critical capital projects.The ideal candidate will have project experience in the coatings or food & beverage industries.

responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end execution of process-focused CAPEX projects, specifically driving the implementation of blending, mixing, and pumping systems.
- Translate User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Basis of Design (BoD) into comprehensive Basic and Detailed Engineering Packages.
- Direct internal and external engineering teams and collaborate with Procurement to select suppliers, issue purchase requisitions, and manage vendor performance.
- Maintain an extensive on-site presence at project locations to oversee installations, ensure operational safety, and keep critical timelines on schedule.
- Monitor project metrics, mitigate risks, and provide regular progress and financial reports to engineering leadership and steering committees.
